Devraj Bajgain (Founder)

A Journey of Social Work, Spiritual Leadership, and Tourism Excellence

Devraj Bajgain is a visionary leader whose life intertwines social work, spiritual guidance, and entrepreneurial success in the tourism industry. Since 2000, he has been deeply engaged in yoga and meditation, teaching and guiding individuals on spiritual journeys while promoting wellness tourism. His extensive understanding of spirituality and wellness has made him a trusted figure for those seeking holistic experiences in Nepal.

Devraj’s journey began as a member of Nepal Matri Griha, where he actively supported volunteer trekking and tours. Rising to a board member position, he played a pivotal role in empowering communities and uplifting lives through social work. His dedication to service extends to his ongoing membership in the Shree Krishna Youth Council and Lions Club International, where he participates in numerous volunteer and community development initiatives.

In 2013, Devraj entered the tourism business, quickly establishing himself as a prominent entrepreneur. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Travel Manager at Hotel Buddha and Hotel Kathmandu Grand. During this time, he transformed these properties into top-selling hotels in Thamel on platforms like Ctrip and other booking sites, demonstrating his expertise in hospitality and travel management.

As Managing Director (MD) of Chitwan Safari Camp and Lodge (2013–2019), Himalayan Adventure Treks and Tours (2014–2017), and Valley Treks (2017–2019), he showcased exceptional leadership and innovation. Since 2019, he has been the MD of Trekking Routes (Nepal Alibaba Treks), a company recognized for its diverse offerings and commitment to exceptional customer experiences.

Devraj’s passion for education and community welfare has been a constant throughout his career. As a Community Development Member of Kumaristhan since 2024, he has provided vital support to schoolchildren, including free education and essential resources.

His fusion of social service, spiritual guidance, and tourism leadership reflects his holistic approach to life. By promoting wellness tourism and guiding spiritual journeys, Devraj inspires countless individuals to explore the transformative power of Nepal’s culture, nature, and spirituality.

Devraj Bajgain, the visionary founder of Trekking Routes, has spent over 13 years dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and supporting local communities in Nepal. Born and raised in a small village nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, Devraj’s early years were spent exploring the majestic mountains and lush valleys that surrounded his home. His deep connection with nature and his love for adventure laid the foundation for his future in the tourism industry.

Early Beginnings

Devraj’s journey into the tourism business began with humble roots. After completing his education, he started working as a guide for various trekking companies. His profound knowledge of the terrain, coupled with his passion for sharing Nepal’s beauty with visitors, quickly earned him a reputation as one of the most reliable and insightful guides in the region. However, Devraj saw an opportunity to do more than just lead treks; he envisioned creating an organization that would not only provide exceptional experiences for tourists but also promote sustainable tourism and benefit local communities.

In 2019, Devraj took a bold step forward and founded Nepal Alibaba Treks and Tour and Trekking Routes. His mission was clear: to offer unique, immersive trekking and travel experiences that highlight the natural and cultural wonders of Nepal while fostering responsible tourism practices. Under Devraj’s leadership, the company quickly grew, attracting adventurers from around the world who sought authentic and transformative journeys.

Commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Devraj’s commitment to sustainable tourism and social responsibility is at the core of Nepal Alibaba Treks and Tour and Trekking Routes’ operations. With over 25 years of volunteer work and organizational leadership, Devraj is now a member of Lions International and serves as the General Secretary of Nepal Matri Griha and President of Shress Krishna Pranami Youth Council. These organizations focus on providing free education to children from poor families in villages and engage in various other social activities.
