Although the brand is new, our team carries over 13 years of professional experience in the tourism industry. Founder: Devraj Bajgain

A Leader in Social Service, Spiritual Well-being & Tourism Excellence

Devraj Bajgain, the visionary behind Trekking Routes, is a respected figure whose life blends social work, spiritual guidance, and tourism entrepreneurship. Since the year 2000, he has been actively involved in yoga and meditation, guiding individuals toward holistic well-being and promoting wellness-based travel experiences in Nepal.

Devraj began his service journey with Nepal Matri Griha, participating in volunteer trekking and community development programs, eventually rising to the role of board member. His long-standing commitment to social upliftment continues through his active involvement with organizations such as the Shree Krishna Youth Council and Lions Club International, where he contributes to various humanitarian initiatives.

His formal entry into the tourism field began in 2013, and he quickly established himself as a dynamic tourism entrepreneur. From 2017 to 2019, he served as a Travel Manager at Hotel Buddha and Hotel Kathmandu Grand, where he played a major role in positioning these properties among the top-performing hotels in Thamel on platforms like Ctrip and other booking sites.

Over the years, Devraj has led several travel and hospitality companies, including:

  • Managing Director, Chitwan Safari Camp and Lodge (2013–2019)

  • Managing Director, Himalayan Adventure Treks and Tours (2014–2017)

  • Managing Director, Valley Treks (2017–2019)

  • Managing Director, Trekking Routes / Nepal Alibaba Treks (2019–Present)

His leadership combines innovation, service excellence, and a deep understanding of Himalayan tourism.

Devraj also remains committed to educational and social development. As a Community Development Member of Kumaristhan (since 2024), he continuously supports schoolchildren through free education materials and essential resources.

His lifelong dedication to spirituality, community service, and tourism reflects a holistic vision: to inspire travelers from around the world to explore Nepal’s natural beauty while discovering inner growth and meaningful cultural connections.

Devraj Bajgain, the visionary founder of Trekking Routes, has spent over 13 years dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and supporting local communities in Nepal. Born and raised in a small village nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, Devraj’s early years were spent exploring the majestic mountains and lush valleys that surrounded his home. His deep connection with nature and his love for adventure laid the foundation for his future in the tourism industry.

Early Beginnings

Devraj’s journey into the tourism business began with humble roots. After completing his education, he started working as a guide for various trekking companies. His profound knowledge of the terrain, coupled with his passion for sharing Nepal’s beauty with visitors, quickly earned him a reputation as one of the most reliable and insightful guides in the region. However, Devraj saw an opportunity to do more than just lead treks; he envisioned creating an organization that would not only provide exceptional experiences for tourists but also promote sustainable tourism and benefit local communities.

In 2019, Devraj took a bold step forward and founded Nepal Alibaba Treks and Tour and Trekking Routes. His mission was clear: to offer unique, immersive trekking and travel experiences that highlight the natural and cultural wonders of Nepal while fostering responsible tourism practices. Under Devraj’s leadership, the company quickly grew, attracting adventurers from around the world who sought authentic and transformative journeys.

Commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Devraj’s commitment to sustainable tourism and social responsibility is at the core of Nepal Alibaba Treks and Tour and Trekking Routes’ operations. With over 25 years of volunteer work and organizational leadership, Devraj is now a member of Lions International and serves as the General Secretary of Nepal Matri Griha and President of Shress Krishna Pranami Youth Council. These organizations focus on providing free education to children from poor families in villages and engage in various other social activities.
